A few weeks ago one of the young people we support held a fundraiser in aid of YouCan - Youth Cancer Support.
Liam was diagnosed with cancer in his early 30s last year.
"Myself and my mum started the club back in 2008 to get a group of mates who were playing five aside also helping in a diversionary way of helping youth stay out of trouble and off the street or through football.
Over the years we have had under 14s, 18s 3 men's sides and a ladies team.
As I got sick last year and we could continue running the club as it hit my family hard and it kind of fell apart... so we came to the decision of folding the club. This was also our 10 yrs Anniversary.
It was a sad occasion but great day.
We played a Legends team v current players. Souls Legends XI won 5 - 4 Souls XI
We also wanted to say thank you to Sutton Common Rovers FC for letting us use there facilities. (Liam also is the manager of there Reserve side)."
A massive THANK YOU to Liam and all his family and friends for fundraising for us. You raised an amazing £399.25 which go directly to support young people impacted by cancer.
