Make a splash to support YouCan Youth Cancer Support

Adrenaline seekers are invited to take part in the thrilling KM Dragon Boat Race being staged to support YouCan Youth Cancer Support.

The annual race is being organised by the KM Charity Team on Sunday, June 30th 2019 at the beautiful Mote Park, Maidstone.

Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team urged people to take the challenge to support YouCan Youth Cancer Support.

“This is a thrilling way to raise money for this excellent cause. This team challenge is a fantastic day for both families and groups of friends. Big crowds will cheer you on from the banks of the lake while others browse the stalls and activities close to the shore,” he said.

Teams of 11 are needed to take part but larger groups can be accommodated by swapping personnel in between heats. Maximum of 17. Each crew takes part in a minimum of three races.

Teams of all abilities take part and teams booking early usually receive press coverage in KM Group newspapers.

To take part #TeamYouCan must pledge to raise £1500 for YouCan Youth Cancer Support - this is the team as a whole not an individual target. That could pay for a group of young people affected by cancer to attend a Wellbeing Weekend.

What the young people we support say about YouCan Wellbeing Weekends:

“I would DEFINITELY recommend this well-being weekend! It is a relaxing, supportive environment and a much needed rest. It’s amazing meeting the people who just get it.”
