YouCan Cycle 2019
We offer support for young people in South East England and London up to the age of 35 whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
We aim to provide workshops and short breaks to build self-esteem, encourage peer support and friendship and help young people face the future with increased confidence.
A couple of years ago, when I was 15 years old, I suddenly started getting really tired. I lost a lot of weight and found a lump on my neck whilst doing my silver Duke of Edinburgh award. I left it for a bit as I just thought it was a cyst that would go away in time. However, it didn’t.
I had a smear test in April 2016 and the results came back all clear. However, I arranged to see the doctor in May as I was worried about the symptoms I was experiencing – painful intercourse, discharge, unexplained bleeding – and the fact that there is a history of cervical cancer in my family.
